How to Install LINUX UBUNTU

1. Download the ISO image, and burning on CD.
2. Insert into your CD Drive, restart your PC. BIOS set it to read the first time is a CD Drive.
If the Ubuntu CD detected properly, it will display the following screen to select the language you want to use in the installation.






















3. Select the "Install Ubuntu", and click Enter.


























4. Select the language you will use. Indonesian also available.




























6. Enter a location or area, including the time you'll use for your server.












7. Select your keyboard layout, and try to enter some characters to test whether the keyboard is correct what has not.


8. The next stage is to partition your hard disk. Hard drive partition is very easy, but it must be extra careful. Because once we change the partitions on existing data in will be deleted.
There are three options for hard disk partition, is as follows:

a. If you want to continue using the existing OS, for example, want to dual boot with Windows XP, then select the first option, namely "Guided - resize the partition and use the freed space".
b. If want to just use Ubuntu on your computer, and delete existing data on disk, then select the second option, namely "Guided - use entire disk".
c. You also can choose the option, "Manual" if the first and second choice is not in your plans. Of course you are expected to have knowledge of the partition and the server.


9. Remaining hard disk space for the memory swap. Is usually twice the memory of you. If you have a 512Mb then you are a 1024MB swap.
Each time you change the partition, such as delete, change size, the content or the data partition will be erased.
10. The next step is to create a user to be able to log into Ubuntu. Enter your name and password, do not forget to always remember it.




11. Enter the id and password to log in when you are finished installing Ubuntu.


12. If you do not have any difficulties or errors, then you get ready to install Ubuntu.

13. Install Ubuntu 8.04 operating system will be done with the appearance of this screen.



14. Around 9 or 10-minute, install will be finished and the PC you are ready to restart the PC with Linux.



15. Now you are ready to use Ubuntu by using the id and password that you entered earlier.
